Lesson 4, Thing 8

I was very unclear on RSS and feeds and this lesson was extremely helpful. So how does the use of feeds differ from a virtual bookmarking system like Delicious? You get notified of the latest content, without randomly checking your favorite sites. An example of this might be one of the blogs on School Library Journal, like the Neverending Search from Joyce Valenza. She creates a new post; you know about it. This seems like a great professional tool, perhaps paralleling listservs or Google Alerts. Mmm...lots to think about!

Week 3, Lesson 3

It's been very exciting to look at the new tools in Big Huge Labs that Flickr has to offer, so I am pasting a link to the page listing the many options. May be a great tool to use with my advisory group of 12 freshman, but as always, the question is how?

Week 2, Lesson 2

First post: I am considering the 7 1/2 habits.
As a high school librarian, the hardest daily habit to develop is considering problems as challenges. This is particularly true with issues that emerge from computing support. I work with many different computers and their limitations, so trying new things is almost always problemmatical.
